I studied in Terengganu for 3 years. And Terengganu is really not only about malay food. They served western food as well. So here is some recommendations for those who have no idea what to eat when they are in Terengganu.
First, we start with Tappers near Kampung Cina. This is a normal Malaysian restaurant to most of them in Klang Valley. You won't even bother to go in because there are so many other choices in Klang Valley. I kind of like Tappers when I was in Kuala Terengganu as the serving portion is big and the price is affordable for a student.
This is our first try when Tappers only opened for a few weeks in Kuala Terengganu. I came here with a few friends. One of them ordered Nasi with Ayam Masak Merah. The rice is not sticky as some of the people really hate eating rice in Terengganu as they all like sticky sticky rice like Nasi Kukus. This is fine and the Ayam Masak Merah is not too spicy. For me, nay. I like super spicy food. haha...XD We ordered the set meal so it comes with choices of drinks.

Then we got another cafe named Gossip Kitchen. The food is slightly smaller portion but it taste nicer. The shop is hiding somewhere near the Batu Bersurat roundabout. A bit difficult for newcomers to find it but it definitely worth your time.
This is Grilled Chicken Chop. It served with some fried eggplant and mashed potato. This is really nice as the chicken is juicy and tender and mashed potato is nicely flavoured. Thumbs up.

This is what my friend ordered, Loh Su Fun Soup. A bit too peppery if you don't like the fragrance of black pepper. But overall this is fine. =)

This my favourite! Seafood Marinara. The spaghetti is a bit too little. =( so I always ask for extra portion of the spaghetti. The sauce is creamy and full of the sourness and sweetness of tomato. The prawn tempura is nice too, not oily at all. and they give a generous portion of seafood. Yum Yum.

This is my another favourite dish. Grilled Rib eye. The meat is so tender that you can eat bite it without your teeth. the meat is nice going with the sauce. wondering if you will be full with that small portion? erm... order other food. haha..XD

Then we have another shop in Chinatown where you can have a sip of aromatic coffee and some non-halal alcoholic drinks and food. The Vinum.
Grilled Pork Chop. If you are hunting for pork, chinatown is always your first choice. The chop is fine. Taste fine. Nothing much to talk about. But over here, you can choose the sauce that you would like to be served with your chops. they have variety of choices.

Then I had Grilled Chicken Chop. As you can see, chicken thigh. tender =) I have chosen pineapple sauce. I wonder how they mix it. it is sweet and sour and a great aroma of fresh pineapple. This is really good to go with meat. It takes away the oiliness.

My friend had this Friend Chicken Chop. Yes. He likes fried food. The crunchy crunchy one. It is served with mayonnaise and some sweet soy sauce. It turns out to be nice though weird combination.

Later, we moved to the cafe area to have our relaxing and chit chat time. I order this blue sea or blue something. It is some coloured syrup with soda and lime. I expected it to be alcoholic though. haha.. They have a variety of wine over here. You name it, you have it. Erm... in Kuala Terengganu, this is really cool.
